The Wacken show was attended by 82,000 Rock and Metal fans and with just two shows to go before the end of the tour band leader Tuomas Holopainen chose this show to document the current vibe of the band with Floor Jansen now fully settled into the Modus Operandi of the band. Truly an epic tour that stretched the band to breaking point, resulting in the departure of vocalist Anette Olzon back in September last year, as Troy Donockley relates. She sounded okay in the trailer though, true.Released coincidentally with confirmation that Floor Jansen and Troy Donockley are to become permanent members of Nightwish, this 2-disc DVD set covers their headlining show at Wacken in August 2012, and a world tour documentary encompassing 104 concerts in 34 countries over a period of 572 days seen by 1.5 million people. She may have diversity, but isn't great in any of the individual singing types, from what I've heard so far. Basically ReVamp = Noise, instead of music. It was also hard to understand what she was singing at times. Her singing wasn't very clear and felt like her voice was overshadowed by the instrumentals (also forgettable, but at least more clear). Well I've listened to both her "ReVamp" albums and they were very forgettable.
Now everyone is entitled to their opinion but saying she is nowhere near as good is very, very harsh imo. Listen to the first After Forever, newer After Forever, Revamp and Star One and hear her range and diversity.Īlso her headbanging skills alone is worth at least 50 points. Now floor doesn't sound like either Tarja nor Anette but she can sing opera and umm "normal" xP So will be a great middle ground. Now they have Stu Block on vocals which is great as he can sound similar to both Barlow and Ripper.
